Poetry is the simplest yet most complex form of writing that we have. Due to its concise nature, poetry is arguably the deepest kind of writing, where the reader can find multiple, meaningful interpretations. This collection of Christmas stories uses poetry as a way to express the depth and devotion of Christmas literature. In fact, many of the poems in this collection began as Christmas carols. This collection shows poetry that ranges from skeptical to devotional to simple children's stories, as well as many other styles. Each style reflects both the opinions and attitudes towards Christmas during the Victorian Era.
