In a collection of Victorian Christmas stories, you can’t forget the children. Like many people today, Victorians kept a shelf full of pictured Christmas stories to pass the time over the holidays. A good sample of these is included in this exhibit. Among them are tales of heroic fairies, children, and animals saving the day. Also common are the stories of Christmas miracles for the poor and downtrodden. These tales have permeated centuries, touching the hearts of many young and old. They portray the warmth of Christmas and the innocence of childhood that is always welcomed during the holiday season. Enjoy!
